Students visit Moree Solar Farm

January 16, 2020

Last month, Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) organized an educational tour in Moree Solar Farm.  Students from the Moree Secondary College in New South Wales, Australia were invited to learn about the effects of global warming and see how a solar energy plant works. The objective was to educate young people by raising awareness on the negative impact of climate change and make them realize how renewable energy solutions such as the ones provided by Moree Solar farm, can help in mitigating a potential climate crisis.

Moree Solar Farm is one of six solar projects owned or operated by FRV, a global leader in the development of utility-scale renewable energy projects, in Australia. Spanning a vast site of 287 hectares in northern New South Wales, the farm has capacity to produce 70 MW dc of clean energy every year, which is enough to power around 24,000 Australian households.

At the end of the tour, students were asked to write down 1 idea about how to help combat Climate Change. Overall it was a very positive experience that we hope will inspire younger generations to become more environmentally conscious and  reduce their own carbon footprint.
